''Banjul Cops'' is the first detective series made for Gambian television (2004). The premiere of ''Banjul Cops'' at the Kairaba Beach Hotel in the Gambian capital Banjul can be considered as the birth of Gambian cinema. ''Banjul Cops'' is written and directed by Gambian Segun Oguntola. Executive producer is Nana Ofori-Atta Oguntola of VINASHA Productions Ltd. Music is by Kebba Taylor. The movie was filmed entirely on location. In 10 episodes of about 30 minutes each, the two detectives Delia Law (Babette Mindy Lind) and Morris Justice (Modou Musa Ceesay) solve crimes. The content of the stories have typical African touches and background, without stereotypes. The chosen form of the detective is Western-orientated.
